THIS IS NOT A FOREST is a sensory installation at DAC tracing wood’s journey from forest to architecture. The exhibition is developed by Archival in collaboration with the Danish Architecture Center and Dinesen Lab, part of Dinesen. From raw logs to crafted materials, the exhibition examines how wood is shaped through design and how a deeper understanding of its nature, value chain and craft can support more responsible ways of building. Visitors move through a constructed forest of timber, shaped by light and sound, with scent developed by Studio Pneuma. The installation features bespoke furniture pieces and a welcome desk, designed by Archival and made from leftover wood from Dinesen. These are now a permanent part of DACs Welcome.
