Project Materia is an evolving platform dedicated to the exploration of materiality - its histories, processes, and artistic potential. Bringing together internationally renowned artists across disciplines, the project examines how materials shape and challenge contemporary artistic expression. Rooted in a curatorial approach, artists are invited and curated by TABLEAU, fostering a dialogue between diverse practices and perspectives. In collaboration with Edition Solenne, Project Materia creates a space where material becomes both subject and medium - and where the boundaries of design, craft, and collectibility are continuously reimagined.
This year's edition of Project Materia brings together nine internationally renowned artists around a single, radical proposition: what happens when discarded resources become the foundation for a new category of design objects? Each artist presents a newly commissioned work created using Matek™ - Mater's proprietary material innovation, transforming discarded resources into sculptural form. Through individual artistic approaches, the exhibition explores how a single material can be interpreted in multiple ways, challenging conventional notions of material value and opening new perspectives on contemporary luxury.
