Located on the 4th floor in the iconic department store ILLUM, MUJI introduces a universe sure to excite any fan of well-thought-out design and interior of good quality. Born in 1980 as an antithesis to the habits of consumerism at the time, MUJI grew with a purpose of restoring a vision of products that are useful and maintain the proper balance between living and the objects that make it possible. With a philosophy of functional design and roots in Japanese minimalism, MUJI provides a wide range of daily necessities ranging from stationery and household, to clothing and travel. Besides being one of MUJI’s most eco-friendly stores, the MUJI-store in ILLUM is also the home of the only MUJI TeaHouse in Europe with a fine selection of tea.

Japandi Fusion – MUJI welcomes you to an exhibition that honors the ever-lasting fusion between Japanese and Danish design. When MUJI invited the design hub, B33’s acclaimed designers Aleksej Iskos, Erina Caldeira, Gudmundur Ludvik, Jakob Bendix, Karin Lund, Mario Martinez, Rikke Hagen, Steffen Juul, Marie-Louise Rosholm and Øivind Slaatto, the collective decided to let them inspire by MUJI’s range and reinterpret selected products in new constellations for their exhibition. You can also explore the HÅNDVÆRK Bookazine pop-up store with Rigetta Klint within the MUJI space. During these days, MUJI will host a dinner experience created by chef Theis Brydegaard to be served at the Press Tour and for selected ILLUM Key- and MUJI-customers.

Ondarreta is a family business that has been working in furniture design and the production of tables, chairs and stools, both for homes and contract since its foundation in 1977. Everything started at Ondarreta beach in San Sebastian, a beach that keeps the secrets of those who summer in its waters and the roots of a carpentry workshop that was the beginning of a family history dedicated to the design and manufacture of furniture. Today, more than 45 years later, Ondarreta has travelled from that small workshop near the beach to today, where it is available around the world.

It all began in 2013 as a small design event held in an old warehouse in Nordhavn, a harbour area overlooking Copenhagen’s waterfront. Four Danish brands launched the event as a joint initiative: Montana, Erik Jørgensen (now owned by Fredericia Furniture), Anker & Co, and Kvadrat. At that time, Copenhagen lacked a proper design festival, since the previous annual furniture fair at Bella Center closed down some years before.

Today, the 3daysofdesign festival extends to the entire city of Copenhagen and is considered the most significant annual design festival in Scandinavian

Each year since its inception, 3daysofdesign has grown in popularity exponentially. In 2023, over 250 brands exhibited at the festival, where visitors could choose from as many as 500 events to attend in various design districts across Copenhagen, such as design talks, networking events, etc.
